Call to the algerian community in the United Kingdom


Dear Algerians in The united Kingdom

We call you first to participate in the incoming Algerian parliamantary elections from 12-17 may 2007.

Come and choose your future representative in the new parliamant. make the first step and express your opinion and participate in the democratic process in your home country.

Choose the person you think he can make the difference and represents you and defend your rights and who is capable to do his best to highlight your problems and make an end to some of the difficulties and the suffering of our community in europe.

Get your Vote card now or if you dont have it, check with your nearest algerian consulate now.

However if you are ill or working or you can't attend at the polling day, you have another option, go to the consulate and make a proxy (procuration for someone you trust).

If you vote you exists, if you don't, you don't exist.

Your Vote is a testimony (Shahada), your vote is a responsabilty, So be there in the election day, and tell every one that you are present and you can make the difference.

Useful information on the upcoming legislative elections


ELECTORAL CARDS


- Electoral cards used for previous elections are still valid and can be used to vote on May, 12- 17th

- Electors who have lost or misplaced their electoral card, can apply free of charge for a duplicate one.

Requests can be made by telephone (0207-589-6885), or by fax (0207-589-7725) or by email ( info@algerianconsulate.org.uk);

- Algerian nationals who have registered at the consulate after September 2005, will receive their electoral card few weeks before the polling day;

- Algerian nationals who haven't, for any reason, received their electoral card, can ask for a duplicate card at the polling station on polling day, provided that they are registered on the electoral list.

SUPERVISION DURING POLLING DAY

- The candidate or his fully appointed representative can be present at any polling station on the polling day to supervise polling operations. Regardless the number of candidates taking part in the election, the law only authorise five (5) representatives per polling station to be drawn of lots.


- The depouillement is public and is held at the Algerian Consulate on the last day (ie Thursday, May, 17th at 7.00pm)
